The scientific and practical yearbook is dedicated to the historical and cultural parallels between the West and the East. The purpose of the publication is to disseminate the scientific knowledge of humanities scholars, to facilitate their free discussion and exchange of views on topical issues of World history. Each issue of the scientific publication has a thematic character. Since 2012, the yearbook has been published jointly with the Russian Society for Intellectual History. The international composition of the editorial board is represented by scholars from academic and university communities of Russia, Austria, Slovakia and Belarus, members of the international commission under the National committees of historians of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The journal carries out scientific review ("double blind") of all submitted materials for the purpose of their peer review. The Editorial Board sends review copies to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation upon request. The journal adheres to the standards of editorial ethics in accordance with the international practice of editing, reviewing, publishing and authorship of scientific publications and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics(COPE).
The point of view of the Editorial Board may not coincide with the point of view of the authors.

Publication frequency: 1 time per year.
The Editorial Board does not provide paid services
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
All the materials of the “WEST-EAST” journal are available under Creative Commons “Attribution” 4.0 license.
